Ifølge BoardgameNews skulle et Cartagena II være i støbeskeen. Det er også denne gang Leo Colovini, der står bag spillet. Cartagena II er planlagt til at komme sent i efteråret 2006 (p.t. oktober). Endvidere vil originalen, Cartagena, blive genoptrykt med ny grafik.
